Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 240ml sourdough starter
- 120ml warm milk
- 60g sugar
- 5g salt
- 60g melted butter
- 1 egg
For the filling: - 60g melted butter
- 60g brown sugar
- 15ml cinnamon
For the glaze: - 120g confectioners’ sugar
- 30ml milk
- 5ml vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sourdough starter, warm milk, sugar, salt, melted butter, and egg until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
- While the dough is rising, prepare the filling by mixing together the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle.
- Spread the filling evenly over the dough, leaving a 2.5cm border around the edges.
- Roll the dough up tightly, starting from one of the long sides.
- Cut the roll into 2.5cm slices and place them in a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish with a damp cloth and let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing together the confectioners’ sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a small bowl.
- Once the rolls are cooked, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top. Serve warm.
